Honestly, anything that has the words ‘antiseptic cream’ or ‘antiseptic ointment’ written on it is going to be incredibly close to the original Germolene. In fact, most of them are based on the original Germolene.
Is Germolene Safe?
Germolene is 100% safe to use. While there is a risk of triggering certain allergies or having an impact on various skin conditions (e.g. psoriasis), the risks when using Germolene are incredibly low. Most people will be able to use it without issues.
Many doctors will actually recommend the use of Germolene as an antiseptic, although, if you are pregnant there may be some risks involved. Although, even then, the risk is minimal.
While there is the risk of overdosing on Germolene, at the most it is going to cause a small amount of skin irritation. However, once again, this is rare. This is because it is far more likely that the wound would have healed a long time before you overdose on the Germolene.
